Seed Quality

We use proprietary plant genetics of industrial hemp — all made possible and substantiated by advanced genomic mapping.

Our uniquely feminized hemp seed genetics are optimized for a high concentration of CBD (cannabidiol), as well as minor concentrations of other cannabinoids such as CBDA, CBG, CBN and CBC. The whole hemp flower also has various percentages of many therapeutic compounds like terpenes, flavonoids, amino acids, polyphenols, enzymes, aldehydes, ketones, alkamides, antioxidants, omega fatty acids, chlorophylls and vitamins/minerals.

Farming Practices

Located in Oregon, the land our partner farms cultivate is considered one of the ideal climate biomes to grow in. The farm also employs zero-waste cultivation techniques — using no single-use plastic containers or sheeting, as well as no synthetic soil inputs or artificial growing aids.

We believe in regenerative agriculture. Unlike hemp grown in greenhouses, biodynamically growing outdoors allows “our girls” to be fully nurtured by natural sunlight, wind, moonlight and other seasonal biorhythms, creating what we feel is the highest quality and dynamic raw material.

All of our hemp biomass is naturally grown using only organic principles as defined by the United States National Organic Program (NOP). This means no harsh, synthetic additives during the entire process: no pesticides, no insecticides, no herbicides, no petroleum-based chemical fertilizers, no hydrocarbon solvents and no irradiation.

Broad Spectrum

Cannabinoids are natural compounds and molecules of hemp oil that are extracted from the hemp plant. Cannabidiol (CBD), is just one of many cannabinoids and accounts for up to 40% of the plant’s extract.

We extract and purify our hemp using CO2 supercritical fractionation to remove waxes, chlorophyll, pollutants and THC. We are not isolating any one specific cannabinoid, but rather, using a broad spectrum of cannabinoids in combination with polyphenols, terpenes, sterols and flavonoids to work synergistically, as nature intended.

Extraction Process

How hemp oil is extracted from the plant truly matters. We’ve chosen to use supercritical CO2 from beginning to end for many reasons:

Clean: Free of hydrocarbons (like butane and hexane), toxins and heavy metals, which can either come into contact with oil or be byproducts/residual components when other solvent methodologies are used. It’s the standard for food products, and we wanted nothing less.

Slow & Targeted: Throughout the process we can dynamically control the temperature to target the things we want to take out (like waxes and THC), while leaving all of the stuff we love (like CBD, other cannabinoids, terpenes and polyphenols).

Gentle: Other extraction methods that use solvents such as hydrocarbons or ethanol/alcohol mixtures require additional distillation and purging to separate the solvent from the oil, which results in more processing and heating of the material. Unlike those methodologies, CO2 naturally separates from the oil at room temperature, ensuring minimal processing of the oil.
